Alone. In the wilderness. In New Zealand. For a year.

An artist, meditation instructor, world traveler, and author, Kiranada Sterling Benjamin kept a journal of her inner reflections on loneliness, isolation, fear, patience, confidence, joy, and positivity during her year alone. The result is her book: "A Year of Silence: Solitary Retreat in the New Zealand Wilderness."

She dealt with limited food, cold, elemental storms bubbling up from Antarctica, night visits by local possums, and an infestation of lice. Following the Tibetan retreat dictum -- “If you’re sick, you’re sick. If you die, you die”--- she promised herself to not come out of solitude. In the end, she discovered a blossoming of deep open-heartedness that she will share in this special program.

Copies of the book will be available for purchase after the presentation.
